Why there is no price on this page
You will find many websites that list “average costs” for water damage restoration. We did not find a source we can verify for Florida cities, so we publish none. Ask for written estimates instead.
What moves the cost
| Factor | Why it changes the price |
|---|---|
| Area affected | More square feet and rooms mean more extraction, equipment and labor |
| Water category | Contaminated water needs protective measures, removal and disinfection |
| Materials | Carpet, hardwood, tile, drywall and insulation each dry or fail differently |
| Time before response | Longer wet time means more absorbed water and more removal |
| Equipment and monitoring | Number of air movers, dehumidifiers and visits |
| Access | Attics, crawlspaces, tight rooms and multiple floors |
| Repairs afterward | Replacing drywall, flooring, cabinets and paint is often a separate scope |
| Contents | Moving, cleaning or storing belongings |
| Insurance | Deductibles and coverage limits affect what you pay |
How to compare estimates
- Get the scope in writing: what will be removed, dried, cleaned and repaired.
- Ask whether drying and repairs are quoted separately.
- Ask how monitoring will be documented and how many visits are included.
- Ask what could change the price and how changes are approved.
- Check Florida licenses on the DBPR license search.
- Be careful with large upfront payments and with paperwork you do not understand.
Insurance and cost
Insurance may pay for some or all of a covered loss, subject to your deductible and policy limits. Report early: Florida bars an initial or reopened claim unless notice is given within 1 year of the date of loss (section 627.70132). See the claims guide.
